I have rewritten this page, as I am not the orignal owner of this site. The story below is about the birds that inspired HER to create this site. My love for birds extends basically to wild birds. I live in the country, and have a feeder which is used by sparrows, cardinals, blue jays, and other small birds whose breeds I'm not familiar with. All of them are beautiful, and I keep my cat away from them, and make sure they have food when it's snowy outside.

MY greatest love is saving dogs. I have several rescued dogs, and someday I'll open a site and call it Dog Crazy I think, just so I can put up a page about my dogs. I love them all, and give them the best possible home I can. Many of them were abused or abandoned. Some were just cute. One was on his way to be put to sleep for barking too much, another for being pregnant. Buddy, my chihuahua was more or less abandoned by his owners after they broke up. Raven is deformed, from birth, and was also abandoned by her owner. But you came to learn about the birds, not the dogs, so, without further adieu, here they are!

This is, Bubba. He is a Nanday Conure. Michelle, the original owner of this site, rescued Bubba from death. She was at this pet store one day, and noticed this cage with 3 Nandays in it. She was really interested because they were so cute. She spoke with the pet store owner, and she explained that they were not for sale becasue they were "defective". She told Michelle she would send the birds back to the breeder, and he would destroy them. The breeder was not very good about removing the babies when it was time. Bubba's mom sat on him too long, and caused his feet to become deformed(you can see his feet in the picture). He also did not feed his birds a good diet, and Bubba has bone deformities on both wings.

She said she would give him to me for $40.00, which is a lot less than what he would be worth if he was perfect. Michelle would have paid a million for him. So, she took him home. She wished she could have taken them all home, but that would have been too much for her. Nandays are classified as one of the noisiest of the Conure family.

He has been to the vet, and everything is fine. he is a little smaller than he should be, but the vet says he should live a happy life. He is spoiled rotten, and he is always with Michelle. They have a wonderful bond, that can never be broken.

This is JoJo. He is a Green Cheeked Conure. Michelle got him when he was 3 months old. He is 5 months old in this photo. He is the complete opposite of Bubba. Very outgoing and playful. He is very quiet, except when the two of them are having "noise contests". JoJo loves to hang upside down, and lay on his back while he plays wiht his toys.

The two of them don't get along just yet. JoJo chases Bubba, and Bubba runs.

Michelle says that both of the are spoiled rotten. They get snacks and treats all the time, and more toys than they can play with. Bubba takes a shower with Michelle every night. He loves the water, and sits on a specially made perch so he can look out the window and get wet. JoJo prefers his water dish to the tub.

Well, now that you have met the inspiration for Bird Crazy Mail, I hope you can see what wonderful pets birds can make. From the smallest to the biggest, they can all take a special place in your heart. Michelle fostered several birds and gave them to good homes because there are people who don't realize the commitment. Someday, Michelle hopes to run a bird rescue, just so that she can help more birds.
